Introducing — 5 Photographs Collection 0001

The concept is simple — a series of posts each with 5 of my photographs somehow related to each other. For example, taken on the same trip or day, or perhaps exploring the same theme or subject. Accompanying each mini-collection will be a short blurb.

This ongoing project aims to showcase some of my photography, but it’s also a creative exercise in ruthless culling and collation. I take thousands, probably tens of thousands, of shots every year. The majority of them sit untouched on hard drives or in the cloud. Also floating on a dream cloud is the idea that I should edit and create a lengthy gallery or album for every trip or holiday I take. This can be hugely time-consuming and therefore rarely happens.

My aspiration for this project is to improve my photo selection process — allowing me to make frame selections faster, more ruthlessly and with conviction. I often find that perfectionism blocks my creative output — so this series is a step towards executing a creative idea even when it isn’t my preconceived ideal.

I also hope that it will unearth hidden treasures from deep in my photographic archive, allow me to relive and be grateful for past experiences, and most importantly be a lot of fun! Let me know what you think of each selection and what they bring to mind for you!
