The second post from our 2024 adventure to the verdant volcanic sanctuary of Madeira. But this time 5 urban frames : the harsh-lit shadowed alleyways of Funchal.

Fuchsia pops amongst nature's green solar,
Under stone arches, old paint layers surrender,
Nightfall lifts neon-orange blooms bleeding,
Cafés clutter, tripping the cruise-ship drones,
Hillside full with terracotta-topped havens,
Lanterns glow; Funchal surprises wanderers.
